Founder’s Stone
Dr. Carroll died in January of 1931, and in May of that year, the Academy held an impressive ceremony to unveil the Founder’s Stone, a grey granite boulder that was a gift of the Senior Class of 1931. The monument stood on the old Academy campus until 1982, when it was brought to this campus, and it is now part of the Alumni Plaza. So the next time you are walking by, take a minute to look at that monument, read the plaque, and remember the man who did so much to establish this school and get it off to a successful start.
