1910-11 Academy girls basketball team
The first girls basketball team was organized in the 1910-1911 school year. This is a photo of the first girls’ team, and you’ll notice that professional-looking basketball goal in the background . . . the Academy didn’t have a gym until 1925, so the court you see in this picture was most likely where the basketball teams played their games in the early years.
